SAILING AND ASHES TO THE SEA
CEREMONY
With the boat stopped and facing the sea, the delegation will be placed at the stern of the boat, completely sheltered from the wind and sea, and if they wish, a response will be read by the captain or a family member.
Next, each of the people in the entourage will throw ashes into the sea and then the flowers will be thrown. During the course of the event, the crew will remain silent. The duration of this ceremony is estimated at about ten minutes.
Subsequently, the family will be given a document stating the date and geographical coordinates (latitude and longitude) of the exact point where the ashes were thrown, in case they wish to return to the same place to lay flowers or the ashes of another family member.
